San Jose Strip Clubs: Yahoo, not Google, loses in deal

A full blown recession has hit, and while it makes sense to have a viable competitor to Google, it’s like wishing for AT&T mobile phones to not drop calls. Most people have given up on the notion and figured out how to live their lives instead of hoping for something that will most likely not happen, or at least something that would happen in a time frame to make a difference.
Even the announcement of the two companies entering into a ten-year pact won’t happen right away, and there is no guarantee that it will still happen once the companies start down the road of integration. It’s hard enough to get three people to agree how to work let alone companies with tens of thousands with no history of working together. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the ease with which a stripper can part a man with his money and ten being negotiating a piece deal in the Middle East, having this deal realize more than the current sum of their two parts, tips in favor of the right half of that scale.

San Jose Strip Clubs: Guys extreme adventures in Washington.

Guys extreme adventures in Washington.
After my recent post about ” mancations”, I couldn’t stop thinking whether guy’s vacations should be just booze and strippers, “soft” adventures like biking, rafting, skydiving or something they will remember for a long, long time. I spent some time on the net and found some unbelievable adventures. Here are just a few of them: driving WWII tank, flying in a fighter jet, driving Formula 1 racing car, becoming a firefighter , special/covert/sea operations agent, piloting a submarine and more.
Everything from extreme adventures to extremely bizarre, like “pirate hunting” vacations to those interested in wielding AK-47’s and shooting at pirates off the coast of Somalia ( just US$5,000+ AK-47’s and ammunition available for rent each day).
Do we have anything that even remotely as extreme as those adventures in Washington State? Not quite, but here are a few ideas:

San Jose Strip Clubs: Worried residents feared City Council was ready to approve strip …

Worried residents feared City Council was ready to approve strip clubs in Livermore
Posted: 07/28/2009 04:15:10 PM PDT
LIVERMORE — Contrary to a brow-raising rumor widely circulated last week, there are no plans to open a strip club in Livermore, city council members said Monday.
The news relieved dozens of homeowners, real estate agents and other members of the business community who said they had feared the worst.
The trouble began when residents misinterpreted a council agenda item calling for the adoption of “live adult entertainment” regulations in Livermore.
The measure was totally preemptive — aimed at keeping such establishments in check should anyone apply to set up shop in the city, said officials. They stressed they have received no such application.
Nonetheless, residents barraged council members with storm of emails and phone calls, demanding that they “not approve the business,” council members said.

A proposal for a new massage parlor in Redwood City was shot down by the city council Monday night after the applicant refused to accept changes that the city drew up to address residents’ concerns about the plan.
The council upheld neighbors’ appeal of the city zoning administrator’s March decision to approve a use permit for the establishment, which would have been in the 1,150-square-foot ground floor of a commercial building at 515 Woodside Rd.
Residents worried the business would be a poor fit with the nearby Redwood Oaks neighborhood, saying patrons of the massage parlor could cause traffic and parking problems.

Some neighbors wrote to the city with fears that the massage parlor would be a place of prostitution, though the city said the applicants passed police background checks and there were no signs the business would be illegitimate.

San Jose Escorts: A shameful way to use God

Prosecutors claimed Tony Alamo had sex with the children after “marrying” them in his church. Several victims told the tawdry story, leaving jurors in tears.
Alamo’s attorneys did little to refute his accusers’ testimony. Mostly, they challenged whether the witnesses, grown women now, accurately recalled what happened in the past. And, of course, they called the prosecutors anti-Christian.
No, prosecutors and now-adult victims were trying to protect children through a nearly 100-year-old law that says it’s unlawful to take anyone across a state line for purposes of prostitution or sexual activity. The law is called the Mann Act, and it carries special provisions for victims under 18. Kids under 18 are children. Not sex toys. Christian or not. If convicted, Alamo could face up to 10 years in jail and a $250,000 fine on each count.

San Jose Adult Entertainment: Locking up WPD’s history

In addition to the collection of memorabilia, the department has also done some research and updated its Web site with a history of the department. Officer Monica Gonzalez has been in charge of the project, and discovered that the first death of a Watsonville policeman in the line of duty was actually in 1897, not 1920 as previously thought. On Feb. 6, 1897, night watchman Wesley Alford was shot and killed on South Main Street during a patrol. Officer John T. Whalen was shot to death on Oct. 25, 1920, in a city lot near the jail.
Myers recounted a couple of close calls he had with some of Watsonvilles worst. A brothel owner once pulled a knife on him and, armed only with a can of mace, Myers was forced to flee into the street.

San Jose Massage Parlors: Face-off: The civil war inside Facebook

To be fair, Mark and his team were working round the clock at adding features to the site, and signing up more and more schools. At the rate they were going, they would surpass 500,000 members by the end of August — a pretty spectacular number. But with that incredible growth there came new problems. They were going to need more money soon: 500,000 users would burn a lot of server space. The company was still running on $18,000 Eduardo had deposited in a bank account; he’d given Mark blank cheques to draw on it. They’d soon have to hire real employees, get a real office, hire real lawyers.
Tonight’s party was at a club in a seedy stretch of massage parlours, cheque-cashing joints and fast-food restaurants. Eduardo saw a huge queue outside and a large man in a black suit with a headset by the door. The look on the man’s face as they approached said it all. It was San Francisco, sure, but even here there had to be standards. Eduardo gave their names and the man dutifully parroted them into his headset. Then he shrugged, surprised, and held open the door.
