San Jose Adult Entertainment: Santa Cruz woman sentenced for giving meth to 14-year-old
Stephanie Kelly, 29, pleaded guilty to giving methamphetamine to a 14-year-old girl and two felony counts of child endangerment. Judge Robert Atack sentenced Kelly to five years, eight months behind bars, according to the D.A.’s Office.
But the case is far more complex than sharing meth with the teen.
Kelly is “what can be termed a freelance sex worker,” said prosecutor Andrew Isaac.
The investigation began in the fall when allegations that Kelly had involved the teenage girl in prostitution surfaced. Those couldn’t be proven.
“We don’t know what happened with the girl,” Isaac said. “None of the stories reconcile.” But the investigation led to allegations that Kelly had given the girl drugs and that, years prior, Kelly allegedly involved the girl’s brother in a different prostitution situation, according to Isaac.
