San Jose Escorts: Judge signs, seals arrest warrant for Santa Cruz killings

Police continue to investigate the motive, including if there was a gang connection.
On Monday, the Police Department dive team searched unsuccessfully in the San Lorenzo River near the Riverside Bridge for the gun used in the fatal shooting. Investigators received a tip that someone had thrown an object into the water as officers responded to the shooting just before 5 a.m. Saturday.
Investigators said Nava-Gonzalez and Ventura shared the apartment with others.
The men and their killer were in the living room and among about 10 people in the two-story apartment at the time.
Most of the other people were asleep upstairs when the fatal shooting occurred, Friend said.
The Canfield complex isn’t known as a problem area in the neighborhood, which has been marred with drug and prostitution problems over the years, and neighbors were shocked by the killings.
