San Jose Escorts: San Carlos’ Grocott jumps into San Mateo County supervisor race
Horsley, who could not be reached Wednesday for comment, had $121,000 in his campaign war chest as of June 30, 2009, by far the most cash of any of the candidates.
Fundraising documents also show he has received broad financial support from officials throughout the county, including Controller Tom Huening, six of seven Redwood City council members and the unions representing plumbers, steamfitters and firefighters.
Stogner’s campaign is based on one issue — seeking the resignation of Sheriff Greg Munks.
Stogner, a San Carlos resident, has long called for Munks to step down after the sheriff was caught inside a Las Vegas brothel during a police raid in April 2007.
Munks was never charged with a crime. He said he did not break the law and contended that he believed the brothel was a legitimate business. Munks has refused to publicly answer questions about the incident.
