San Jose Escorts: San Ramon hotels may be asked to get guests’ identification
In a report to the City Council, San Ramon Police Chief Scott Holder states that although most people staying in hotels are there for legitimate reasons, in the past year police have arrested hotel occupants for charges including prostitution, stolen property, fugitive warrants, drug violations, counterfeiting and stolen vehicles. An informant told police many characters choose to stay in San Ramon because they do not have to provide identification to rent a room, and the city doesn’t have any laws requiring such establishments to reveal guests’ names. Several East Bay cities, including Concord, Livermore, Richmond and Union City, have similar ordinances in place. Pleasanton does not have such an ordinance, according to police. In his report, Holder states that having guest information readily available makes it easier to investigate crimes.
