San Jose Strip Clubs: Fisher: ‘Inner sexiness’ gets the nod in Campbell

I went by the other day just as the “sensual dance” class began. With soft, pulsing music in the background, we started out with a stretching routine that’s sort of like any fitness class, except that the poses are provocative and the hand movements are, well, use your imagination.
Then I put on the 6-inch platform stilettos and attempted to walk across the floor. I might as well have been on stilts.
“Stick out your booty and lift your chest,” the instructor suggested as I lurched from one pole to the next, trying not to break my neck. I’m afraid pole dancing is not in my future.
Once practiced only by sultry strippers in go-go clubs, the pole-dancing craze caught on about five years ago. Women across the country who wouldn’t have been caught dead in the Bada Bing! were signing up to act out their secret fantasies or put some sizzle back in a tired marriage.
